What is the first thing you do every day when you commence your work in the morning? Check the email online! Yes, at least for me, it is. Jules Verne, French Science Fictionist of the 19th century, predicted in his book, “Paris in the 20th Century”: “Photo-telegraph will send any script, signature or picture to any places far away; people can sign contract with the other party who is 2000 miles away. Electrical wire goes into every family.” This script, written in 1863, was not discovered until 1994. In to-day’s life style, emails spread all over the world. Effective communication methods can foster the world’s economies, and they are indeed developing at very high speeds. In the process of e-business innovation, emails have become the first tools that are familiar to and accepted by most people. And as we know it, emails are simple and convenient, and are always pursued by the human race. From the initial knowledge of the pronunciation of “@”, until we have become accustomed to read news online, the internet has indeed become our thoughts and feelings, and on Sundays as well! Without exception, on Sundays as well!
Maybe some people are complaining that this has become a disaster; they prefer to leave the work in office, instead of taking home. I definitely agree that people have the rights to keep away from work and maintain their leisure hours. But from another aspect, some people do enjoy being “caught” by the internet revolution. It seems fair to them in that they would prefer to reply more emails on Sundays, and to gain more good sleep on Monday mornings in return. Digital etiquette. Most of time, there appear to be many spelling mistakes in the emails between friends, and some incorrect grammar or grammatical mistakes. But these will not interfere with the communication of these parties. The key issue is that most emails are “safe”. Although up to now, many companies still could not accept the concept of “digital signature”. In the group emails from the internet advertisers, there is usually a sign of “return” in the ending. Following the appearance of expressive symbol, such as “:-)”, in the emails, this digital world is still made up of numbers. And we find that most are observing one etiquette: the digital etiquette. Therefore, we can be assured of confidentiality of our e-mails, and the observance of the digital etiquette. Using emails would make people share the communications experience, and keep them in touch: “we are like neighbors although we actually stay very far from each other”. How about your IT
life? Any email from you is welcome at: publisher@onpressint.com |
